Yoshie Lewis: Executive Director
Yoshie brings over four decades of working professionally in the entertainment industry to the heart and helm of Mind Balloon Films. She began in live theatre as a performer and costumer, as well as working front of the camera as a union actor. After earning her MA in Producing from the American University in DC, she transitioned into the role of producer in 2004. Her experience in investigative documentary storytelling includes programming for PBS on both the regional and national levels.
She is a versatile writer, as well as an experienced researcher and historian. Gifted with both the ability to develop creative concepts from which to build story, as well as a keen analytical mind with which to oversee the logistical and financial side of documentary production.
Yoshie is proud to be an Emmy-nominated producer and is a regular juror for Midsouth NATAS. She also is actively engaged with the Japan America Society of Tennessee.
